When to use which

Different tools for different use cases — here is how to choose.

🇨🇭

Choose Kronvex if…

  • You are building an app for multiple end-users
  • Your users are in Europe (GDPR obligation)
  • You need a REST API callable from any backend
  • You use LangChain, n8n, or CrewAI
  • You need a DPA, audit trail, or SLA
💻

Choose Memstate if…

  • You use Cursor, Cline, or Windsurf personally
  • You want your own coding context to persist
  • You do not need EU data residency
  • Version history matters more than semantic search

Your questions, answered

Memstate does not publicly specify EU data residency or provide a Data Processing Agreement (DPA). If you are handling personal data of EU residents, this is a significant gap. Kronvex stores all data exclusively in Frankfurt (Supabase eu-central-1) and provides a DPA on request — GDPR compliance is built into the architecture, not an enterprise add-on.
Yes. Export your memories from Memstate, then bulk-import them via POST /api/v1/agents/{id}/remember — a simple loop over your export file. We can provide a migration script on request. Email [email protected] and we will help you migrate at no charge.
Yes. Kronvex ships an MCP server you can install with npx @kronvex/setup, compatible with Claude Desktop, Cursor, Cline, and Windsurf. Unlike Memstate which is MCP-only, Kronvex also exposes a full REST API — so you can use it from any backend, script, or framework, not just AI coding assistants.
